Mom Pro Tips

  • Friday and Saturday nights are typically the busiest nights so if you want to feel less rushed to get through the neighborhoods you should visit on a different evening.
  • Bring hot chocolate or cider from home or order a “kids hot chocolate” at Starbucks to get one made at a lower temperature perfect for little ones.
  • Several of these stops have light shows that are sync’d to a radio station, so take note below of which station to tune to!

Stop 1 :: Candy Cane Lane

7900 block of Outlook Lane, Prairie Village, KS 66208

Tips: This is a long cul-de-sac and traffic will likely get backed up. Be patient though, it’s worth it! And please don’t get out of your car, that will just make the traffic worse!

Stop 2 :: Giant Santa Street

Rosewood Drive between 91st/Somerset and 87th St., Prairie Village, KS 66207

Tip: We weren’t quite sure what to call this one but you’ll understand once you make the drive down this merry street!

Stop 3 :: The Christmas Pigs

7416 W 99th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212

Tip: Continue down 99th towards Metcalf to see several other decorated homes.

Stop 4 :: Gapske Christmas Display

7716 West 98th Terrace, Overland Park, KS 66212

Bonus Stop :: Altasciences Light Show

Watch from the church across the street at 10100 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66212 | Website

Music: Tune to 97.1 FM

Julia Willhite
I'm Julia and I live in Olathe with my husband of 18 years, my 12 and 8 year old daughters, and our rescue pug Mabel. I’m a social worker turned SAHM and love Dr. Pepper, thunderstorms, and talking to other adults. I hate coffee, diet culture, and washing dishes. I'll talk your ear off about the best local parks and which restaurants have wronged me by changing their long-standing menu items. I try to walk the line between knowing a lot of stuff and not being a know-it-all. Some days I'm better than others.
