It’s Party Time at the Library!

Kansas City Mom Collective is honored to partner with the Johnson County Library Foundation as a sponsor of Library Lets Loose. We hope to see you there!

Attention all library lovers! The Johnson County Library Foundation is hosting the annual event, Library Lets Loose, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is the one night of the year you can join us in supporting our outstanding public library.

This vibrant and festive after-hours celebration is a fundraiser for library lovers ages 21 and over, and will take place at the Central Resource Library.

Event Highlights

  • Indulge in delicious food and cocktails from 15 different local restaurants and bars
  • Dance the night away to music by DJ Stann
  • Enter a raffle drawing for a chance to win unique experiences
  • Engage in interactive activities and fun!

The theme this year is Library Lets Loose – Top Secret: A Night of Espionage. Spies require information, and what better place to gather information than a party at the Library? Attendees may need to adopt a new persona, ask numerous questions, and uncover secrets in order to access important information. By accepting this mission, participants are guaranteed to have a fun time and receive rewards.

This evening will support digital resources at the Johnson County Library, according to Shelley O’Brien, Executive Director of the Foundation. “In Johnson County, we love e-books and e-audiobooks on Libby. Last year, we downloaded over 1.8 million books on Libby alone. The more popular this service, the longer wait times. We want to raise money to get everyone the digital books they need to relax, entertain, do homework, start a business, and improve their lives.”
