Bowling alleys have changed a lot since we were kids. These days we have high tech bowling alleys with “augmented reality” bowling, lane side food service, and comfortable couches to sit on. You can also still find a more classic bowling alley with all the nostalgia but very few bells and whistles. Mom Pro Tips
- Leagues always get first priority so if you can’t make a reservation, call ahead to check
on lane availability. - The Kids Bowl Free program runs during the summer and only a couple of Kansas City area bowling alleys are listed on their website (both are on the Missouri side of the state line). New bowling alleys are often being added so make sure you check the database before you go and remember you need to actually sign up for the program online to participate! Be aware that only the game is free and you’ll still need to pay for shoes.
- Have teenagers that can stay up late? Check out cosmic bowling! Most bowling alleys offer it on the weekend.
- Want to let your toddler try bowling for only a dollar? Head to the top level of Scheels for their mini-bowling game! They get to bowl a few rounds and no special shoes are required!
