Guide to Doulas in Kansas City

There are a variety of doulas in Kansas City, each with different specialties such as pregnancy and birth doulas, postpartum doulas, and even fertility doulas.

Questions to Ask a Potential Doula

  1. How long have you been a doula, and what is your background and training?
  2. How do you support families with different birth plans or preferences?
  3. Do you offer any postpartum services or referrals for postpartum care?
  4. How many clients do you typically take on per month? How do you handle backup support if you’re unavailable during my birth?
  5. Can you provide references or reviews from other clients?
  6. How do you work with my partner, and what role do you envision them playing during the birth?

Choosing a doula is all about finding someone who fits your needs, provides comfort, and ensures you feel supported in your birth or postpartum journey.
