5 Reasons to Attend Hanging With Heroes

Kansas City Mom Collective’s Hanging with Heroes event is just around the corner, and you don’t want to miss the super-sized fun! This FREE event on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Zona Rosa takes place from 9 a.m. – noon and invites heroes big and small to gather together to make our community a better one.

Here are 5 Reasons to Attend Hanging With Heroes

5. We’re Giving Back

Kansas City is full of many wonderful organizations that care for the children of Kansas City, and we’re excited for our attendees to help out two amazing organizations; Feed Northland Kids and Variety KC.

Feed Northland Kids fights food insecurity by providing our community’s children the nourishment to grow, learn and thrive. Variety KC works to build a future where every kid can be active, be social and belong. Be superheroes yourselves and let’s help these organizations out.

Remember, this event is FREE but please bring the following donations:

  • a box of granola bars and Nutri-Grain style cereal bars for Feed Northland Kids pantries
  • cash and coin contributions to benefit the kids of Variety KC

4. A Morning Full Of Fun

The fun doesn’t stop from the moment you enter Hanging With Heroes to the moment you leave. Our amazing sponsors will be hosting fun superhero training, villain toss, arts and crafts, photo booths and more. DJ Miles will keep the tunes going for some pretty epic dance-offs and your kids will have a blast playing in Zona Rosa’s playground and fountain. Coffee and donuts will be available for purchase at the food trucks Cowtown Mini Donuts KC and Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee of Liberty. Make sure you stop by the Kansas City Mom Collective table for your chance to win passes to the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium!

3. The Community Heroes

It’s not every day your child gets to climb into a military vehicle or rub elbows with the women and men who keep our communities safe. Come visit the U.S. Army, the KCMO Fire Department and the KCMO Police Department.  Meet those who make a difference in our community, and check out their awesome vehicles.

2. The Photo Ops

Make sure your photo is fully charged because you’ll want to capture the thrill and delight of your little one when they meet some of their favorites! We want to thank Dani Beyer Real Estate, Fry Orthodontic Specialists and Pediatric Care North for being our Photo Stop Sponsors. Look for the fun balloon installations from Balloonista to find these wonderful photo opportunities.

1. The Superheroes

Our friends at Planet Anime Kansas City and Just-Us League have called up some of their famous friends, and your family will have a chance to meet these caped crusaders! Kids and kids at heart will be so excited to meet heroes like Captain America, Spiderman, Ironman, Batgirl, Mighty Thor, Rogue, Miles Morales and more! Don’t miss out on stopping by Planet Anime Kansas City’s booth for your chance to win passes to their event running October 18-29 at the Kansas City Convention Center.
