Johnson Farms Plants and Pumpkins is a third-generation family owned business dedicated to providing a delightful fall experience. They offer a u-pick apple orchard, a u-cut sunflower and fall flower field, a pumpkin patch, a fall veggie field and Kansas City’s largest garden mum crop. Their picturesque and peaceful grounds and orchards will instantly transport you to a calmer state-of-mind. Hopefully, we will get to experience a beautiful sunset too!
3. The Experience
Every guest at Mums Night Out will be transported to the apple orchard on a private wagon ride where they can harvest apples in some of our favorite varieties like Honey Crisp, Gala, Fuji and more. After your time in the orchard, relax with a chili bar, caramel apple bar, and an apple cider donut.

Johnson Farms grows over 22,000 mums a year. Yes, you read that right! Johnson Farms has the largest collection of homegrown mum in the Kansas City area. The mums are grown on-site and meticulously cared for over the summer months so they bloom when they are supposed to, not forced to bloom like the box stores. Johnson Farms is the only mum lot in the KC metro offering super-quality garden mums in time tested varieties.
You will get to pick out the perfect potted mum for your front porch, and even learn how to maintain it during our mum care presentation. Get watering tips, a deadheading explanation and more to ensure your mums look spectacular all season long.
