Amigoni Urban Winery

Nestled in the heart of Kansas City’s Stockyards District, Amigoni Urban Winery brings the California wine experience to the Midwest. Specializing in dry, handcrafted wines, particularly those made from European varietals, Amigoni offers a sleek, urban vibe perfect for a chic girls’ night or a sophisticated date. The beautiful tasting room, housed in a historic building, is what first attracts customers, but the wine flights and charcuterie boards filled with local cheeses and meats keeps them coming back.

They offer guided tours through their production space, adding a unique learning experience to the fun. The West Bottom location also makes it easy to transition from wine tasting to dinner at one of the nearby restaurants.

KC Wine Co.

Located in Olathe, KC Wine Co. offers a relaxed, fun environment ideal for a casual outing. Known for their wine slushies and fruit-forward wines, this winery knows how to balance quality with enjoyment. Their scenic outdoor seating provides the perfect setting for sipping wine under the stars or lounging in the sun during warmer months. They are known for their themed and seasonal events. If you’re willing to venture a little further from the city, Pirtle Winery in Weston, is a lovely destination. One of my absolute favorite places in the metro area! Housed in a historic church building, it is the right mix of charming and fun. The shaded wine garden make it easy to lose track of time and enjoy the outdoors any time of year. Pirtle is especially known for its fruit wines and meads, offering something a little different for those who like to experiment. After sampling their selections, explore the quaint town of Weston for boutique shopping, a leisurely meal or live music at O’Malley’s Pub.

Must Try: Blackberry Mead or Weston Bend Rosé

Riverwood Winery

Also found in Weston is Riverwood Winery, which gives a more rustic escape. Set in the rolling hills, it’s a great destination for a quiet getaway. The tasting room has a cozy, country feel, and their wines range from dry reds to sweet fruit wines. The outdoor seating area, surrounded by vineyards, provides a perfect backdrop for a sunset toast. Their kitchen menu is more robust than other wineries to keep your stomach full while you sample.

Weston Wine Company

Weston Wine Company offers a playful and whimsical approach to wine tasting. They are visited frequently for their sweet wines and fun events, like wine and cupcake pairings or Hocus Pocus themed Halloween nights. It’s more of a boutique atmosphere, and provides light-hearted approach to wine. Make this your last stop on the tasting tour of Weston, Missouri. You won’t be disappointed by your day north of the river.

Rowe Ridge Winery

Rowe Ridge Vineyard & Winery, the first vineyard in Wyandotte County, is just north of the Legends shopping area. In the summer wine slushies and sangria are featured and mulled wines are available for purchase in the fall. Their five estate-grown, aged, dry wines are always offered, as well as their two fruit based wines. Somerset Ridge Vineyard & Winery

Located in Paola, Somerset Ridge is a popular spot. This family owned vineyard produces award-winning wines from grapes grown right in the Kansas soil. With a welcoming patio, live music events, and wine tastings, it’s almost always a hopping place. Their wine selection includes everything from crisp whites to bold reds, so there’s something for every palate. Somerset Ridge is also known for its commitment to sustainability, making the wine even more enjoyable for eco-conscious visitors.

Must Try: Flyboy Red which pairs well with their local cheese and charcuterie boards!

Stonehaus Winery

Stonehaus Winery in Lee’s Summit is a family-owned, laid back destination. Grab a flight and head out to their shaded, vine covered patio situated by the vines. You’ll often hear live music playing in the background as you enjoy their selections. Head to Station 7 afterward, right down the road, for pizza and more patio lounging!
