Meet Meg McCollister

In December 2021, President Biden appointed Meg McCollister to the role of regional administrator for EPA Region 7. Meg oversees a staff of more than 650 public servants who provide environmental protections throughout Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and nine tribal nations. Working with local, state, and federal leaders, Meg advances environmental justice and climate initiatives to ensure clean air, water, and land across all Heartland communities.

Prior to joining EPA, Meg spent nearly two decades as an advisor, communicator, and strategic thinker serving nonprofits, candidates for public office, and public policy campaigns. Born in Kansas and raised in both Kansas and Missouri, she received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas before attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctorate with an emphasis in urban, land use and environmental law.

What We’re Loving In Kansas City

Sunflower Summer App

The Sunflower Summer App is a program from Kansas Tourism that offers families free admission to attractions across the state, throughout the summer! It is a must have! Each admission can be used once during the 2024 summer season and runs May 25 through August 11.

Stepping Stones KC

Megan’s daughter has started at-home piano lessons through Stepping Stones. Stepping Stones KC offers music therapy services and enrichment groups for children from birth through 18, with or without a clinical diagnosis. Megan Coffey
Hi! I'm Megan and I host the Kansas City MomCast podcast! Chris and I are both K-Staters and have been married for 16 years- time flies! Our daughter, Peyton, is 11 and our son, Gage, is 8. In our home also resides our insane lab, two cats (one with PICA), and two guinea pigs. You can find me substitute teaching (former full time elementary teacher), doing live sales on Facebook for locally owned kids' resale store, KC Grow Co, reading informational and self-help texts, and listening to podcasts. I also love decluttering/organizing, spending time with friends over margaritas, thrifting, and staying up way too late to have peace and serenity. I love people and hearing their stories and look forward to connecting with KCMC readers and listeners!
