Kite Fest on the Prairie

Soar into the sky and let your spirits fly high at Kite Fest on the Prairie at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens!
Join us for a breezy day of colorful kites, uplifting views and a wind-sational experience amidst the beautiful wildflowers of the Arboretum’s prairie.
Don’t forget your kite, water bottle, bug spray and lawn chairs or picnic blankets for a day of fun, friends and family. Kites will be available for purchase. Picnics are welcome, and Polar Oasis will be selling sweet treats.
Shuttle service is available from the east parking lot from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., or make it an adventure and hike the 1-mile trail to the prairie. No parking on the prairie. Babies and toddlers are welcome – a baby carrier or jogging stroller is best suited for the uneven ground.
This event is free with Arboretum admission. Arboretum admission is free for children ages 5 and under, $2 ages 6-17, $5 ages ages 18+.
