Formerly known as Legends Outlets, Kansas’ only outlet center became part of Tanger in 2025. The rebrand came with some great updates — a new app, some exciting new store openings and a rewards program! And it still features over 100 shopping, dining, and entertainment venues in a one stop destination. Keep reading for my favorite things about Tanger Kansas City at Legends and some mom tips that will make your shopping excursions even easier!
What Kids Will Love
There’s plenty for kids to do at Tanger Kansas City at Legends, which is why my kids always agree to come along on my shopping visits!
My daughter happens to be a shopper and especially loves browsing the new Toys “R” Us (yes, it’s officially back!), Books a Million and T.J. Maxx. She also likes to play at the fun outdoor spaces like the Yellow Brick Road and The Lawn.
If your kids are older and not into shopping, Dave & Buster’s and AMC Theatres are great options to keep them busy while you tackle your shopping list.
KCMC Mom Tip: When everyone needs a little pick-me-up after a long day of shopping, my kids always love to share the pretzel bites at Auntie Anne’s Pretzels or make their own sundaes at Yogurtini.
What Moms Will Love
I love being able to shop for the entire family in one place, while also being able to keep my kids entertained during the outing. This is a huge win for me and why I consistently go back to Tanger Kansas City at Legends.
The teen boys love Rally House, Nike Factory Store, American Eagle, Finish Line and Hollister. My daughter loves The Children’s Place and Sephora. I am able to shop for my husband at Tommy Hilfiger and J.Crew Factory. And I can always find something for myself at Loft Outlet, Michael Kors, Kate Spade and Tory Burch! There is literally a store to please everyone.
I shopped here before it became Tanger Kansas City at Legends, and the biggest upgrade I’ve noticed is the app. The new TangerClub loyalty program has been especially helpful for finding digital coupons to stores I’m already planning to shop at. Outlet prices are already a great deal but pairing them with extra coupons really helps your budget stretch even further. I also love being able to upload my receipts to earn points toward additional offers and rewards. It has turned into a fun game for me! If you’re planning a visit, I definitely recommend signing up — it’s an easy way to save a little extra while you shop.

Location and Parking
Tanger Kansas City at Legends is located at the intersection of I-70 and I-435 in the heart of Village West. Parking is free and available at lots and a parking garage that surround the center.

Stroller and Wheelchair Accessibility
Tanger Outlets Kansas City is very stroller, wheelchair and wagon friendly. It has plenty of ramps and wide sidewalks. I definitely recommend if you have little ones as it can be a lot of walking and will be a great place to store those shopping bags they choose to run around!
Food Options
There is no shortage of food options. We love to grab quick snacks and treats at Topsy’s, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, or Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. If we’re there around lunchtime, we tend to stop at one of the fast-casual options like Five Guys or Chipotle. If we have time for a sit-down meal and it’s a nice day, we love the patio at Yard House!

Movie Nights on the Lawn

KCMC Mom Tip: Make an easy night for yourself and grab dinner at one of the many food options beforehand. Or pick up ice cream for a fun treat at Cold Stone Creamery right across from the Lawn! Don’t forget blankets/chairs to get comfy while watching the movie and let the kids change into jammies for the card ride home.
