Mom Tips for Enjoying Starlight Theatre with Kids
Children under the age of 3 do not need a ticket to a Broadway show at Starlight if they can remain seated quietly in an adult’s lap for the duration of the performance.
- General parking is free and available on a first come, first served basis. Two new paved parking lots will greet visitors this year! You can access the lots via Elmwood, Meyer or Gregory. Premium parking (must be purchased in advance) is available online for $30 or by calling the Ticket Office at 816-363-7827 for the ticket office.
- Starlight has implemented a clear bag policy. Allowed options are bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″, one-gallon clear zip-seal bag, small clutch bags that do not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ may be carried into the venue along with one of the clear bag options. An exception will be made for medically necessary items, including diaper bags, after proper inspection.
- You may bring in one 24oz commercially sealed bottle of water or an empty (24oz or less) re-usable plastic water bottle per person. No metal or glass bottles are allowed.
- No outside food is allowed. However, concessions are available at a variety of counters throughout the venue for purchase. Kid friendly food options include pretzels, chicken tenders, hot dogs, pizza, mozzarella sticks, popcorn, etc.
- They offer booster seats for kids at Guest Services (first come first served basis).
- Starlight offers sensory kits for guests in need of noise-canceling headsets, weighted blankets, and fidget toys. Sensory kits may be checked out at the Guest Information Kiosk with a license or ID.
- Universal changing stations are in the restrooms closest to Gate 6.
- A Mamava nursing pod is located on the east side of the stage house in the hallway near the public restrooms.
- Binoculars are a good idea!
- Take a light cover up or jacket, it can get chilly after the sun sets.
- Have the kiddos take an afternoon nap or rest as the shows run late. Pack jammies in the car in case kids fall asleep on the way home as it will be a late night!
