Make Sure You Have the Right ID
Acceptable forms of ID per the Kansas Secretary of State website:
- Driver’s license or ID card issued by Kansas or another state
- U.S. Passport
- U.S. Military ID
- ID card issued by a Native American tribe
- Employee badge or ID issued by a government office
- Student ID card from an accredited postsecondary education institution in Kansas
- Concealed carry license issued by Kansas or another state

Ways to Vote in Kansas
Vote by Mail
- Anyone can vote by mail but you must submit an application to receive that ballot. October 29 is the last day to order a mail-in ballot in Johnson County.
- You can mail in your ballot or better yet, return your ballot at one of the designated drop boxes, at advance voting locations, or a polling location on election day.
- Voter View is a helpful website where you can confirm that your ballot was received.
Advance In Person Voting
- Begins October 16 in Miami County.
- Begins October 19 in Johnson County. Bring your kids for their special “kids voting” program this year.
- Begins October 19 in Wyandotte County.
Nov 4 is the last day to vote early in person.
Voting In Person on Election Day- November 5
- Make sure to confirm your polling place.
- If you are in line when the polls close, stay in line! You will get to vote.

- Visit your political party’s local office or request a sign on the website of the candidate you want a sign for.
Where to See Election Results
- Local news channels often have results scrolling on the bottom of the screen.
- For Johnson County, you can see results posted on their website after polls close. They post the results of advanced voting first, then a few hours later they typically upload results from election day voting.
