Kansas City Mom’s Guide to the Wisconsin Dells

Approximately eight hours north of Kansas City you can find the “Waterpark Capital of the World” in the Wisconsin Dells. These waterparks blow anything you’ll find in Kansas or Missouri out of the water. Summer is the most popular time to visit because you can enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities, but truly any season is a great time to visit.

Where to Stay in the Wisconsin Dells

Like any tourist location there are options for all price points. Staying at the waterpark resorts can save money as passes are typically included during your stay. But if you want to try out multiple waterparks you can choose to stay off site and buy day passes.

Julia Willhite
I'm Julia and I live in Olathe with my husband of 18 years, my 12 and 8 year old daughters, and our rescue pug Mabel. I’m a social worker turned SAHM and love Dr. Pepper, thunderstorms, and talking to other adults. I hate coffee, diet culture, and washing dishes. I'll talk your ear off about the best local parks and which restaurants have wronged me by changing their long-standing menu items. I try to walk the line between knowing a lot of stuff and not being a know-it-all. Some days I'm better than others.
