KCMC Hosts Third Annual Hanging With Heroes Event

Rain tried to dampen the day, but the smiles of the children who attended our Hanging With Heroes event brought sunshine! Our superheroes took over the Central Park at Zona Rosa for the third year in a row. Super fun balloon installations from Balloonista made the perfect backdrop for kids to pose for photos with their favorite superheroes at photo stops sponsored by Dani Beyer Real Estate, Fry Orthodontics, and Pediatric Care North. Together with our amazing activity sponsors, they helped make this event truly come to life.

Our friends at Just-Us League and Planet Anime Kansas City invited their superhero and pop culture posse to the event. Kids were thrilled to come face-to-face with heroes like Spiderman, Captain America, Batgirl, Rogue, Wolverine, Elsa, The Ghostbusters and many more!

Community heroes from the Kansas City Fire Department and Kansas City Police Department were on hand to answer questions and let kids hop into their vehicles and check them out.

Kids in attendance brought in food donations to benefit Feed Northland Kids and discovered ways to benefit Variety KC.

Our attendees took part in games and activities such as superhero dress-up complete with capes and masks, superhero training, knocking out villains and more from our amazing sponsors including:

Zona Rosa’s Central Park was the perfect location to play and giggle your way through the fountain, play on the playground and splash in the puddles while enjoying coffee from  Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee of Liberty and donuts from Cowtown Mini Donuts KC! Kids also danced with tunes from DJ Miles.

We had an absolute blast with all of you and can’t wait to see you all again at Hanging With Heroes 2025!
