Kansas City is host to many Pride Month events to celebrate with education, celebration and music. The signature celebration is Kansas City Pridefest and Parade June 7-9 in Theis Park with June 9 being focused on families.

Pride Month in June commemorates the Stonewall riots in New York’s Greenwich Village, which ignited the gay rights movement in the United States in 1969. The Kansas City Library offers a collection of book recommendations, events, films, and other resources that celebrate LGBTQIA+ voices and experiences.
The Johnson County Library offers a book list for kids and families.
Kansas City PrideFest (June 7-9)
Kansas City PrideFest is an LGBTQ+ festival featuring a main stage with local acts, national recording artists, vendors, food trucks, family activities, and more. The festival will take place from Friday, June 7 through Sunday, June 9 at Theis Park. All ages are welcome. Sunday is focused on family friendly entertainment and activities. The festival has a $5 admission each day; children 12 & under are free.
KC Pride Parade (June 8)
The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 from Westport Rd. and Broadway Blvd. The route travels south onto Mill Creek Pkwy. and then turns east onto Cleaver Blvd. ending at Oak St. where KC PrideFest takes place at Theis Park.
There is no charge to view the parade, just find your favorite location along the route.
Pride Night at Kauffman Stadium (June 16)
June is Pride Month, and the Royals are proud to recognize our community at Pride Day. Join us on Saturday, June 1. Bring your friends and enjoy this special night of summer baseball and celebration. Take home an exclusive Royals Pride Jersey with the purchase of your theme ticket. Royals Pride Jerseys will ONLY be distributed inside Gate A. Please arrive prior to the 2nd inning to pick up the item. Gate A will open at 1:30 p.m., and only individuals that present a Pride Night theme ticket purchased through this link will receive a jersey. Learn more.
Pride at the KC Current (June 4)
Purchase a KC Current Pride Pack that includes a Ticket and Pride Fanny Pack with the option to purchase additional packs and individual tickets in the same transaction. A portion of your Pride Pack purchase will fund KC Care Health Center and Our Spot KC – both nonprofits supporting the LGBTQ+ community in the Kansas City area.
Rise Up Concert (June 15-16)
Just in time for PRIDE, Rise Up! takes you on a musical journey through the spirit of activism and the fight for equality. Through powerful storytelling and moving performances, we celebrate the inspiring individuals who have paved the way for a world of love and acceptance. From the Civil Rights Movement to the ongoing fight for LGBTQ+ rights, Rise Up! showcases music that empowers us to stand up for justice and equality.
