Three-day galactic adventure welcomes the best in comics, sci-fi, superheroes and fantasy

Planet Comicon Kansas City is the region’s largest and longest-running comic book and pop culture event. Founded in 1999, Planet will celebrate its 24th annual show, March 17-19, 2023 at Bartle Hall in Downtown Kansas City. 

Planet Comicon Schedule

Friday, March 17: 1 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Saturday, March 18: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Sunday, March 19: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

On Friday and Saturday, children ages 7 and under are free.
Sunday is Family Day and 12 and under are free!

From Harry Potter to Star Wars, comics to sci-fi, superheroes to superstar wrestlers, Planet is an awe-inspiring extravaganza fit for the whole family. Planet spans nearly eight football fields and features more than 90 celebrity, cosplayer and comic creator guests.

Planet Comicon Kansas City also features a wide range of pop culture merchandise, crafts, art and collectibles, plus hundreds of hours of programming, an exciting cosplay showcase and a family-friendly interactive area called the Planet Entertainment Zone. PEZ features interactive fun for the kids, including VR experiences, esports, gaming, pinball, drone racing, giveaways, makers activities, cosplay demos and more. It’s a galaxy of fun and adventure spread over three days!

Celebrity guests in 2023 include William Shatner (Star Trek), Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian and Better Call Saul), Richard Dreyfuss (Jaws and Close Encounters of the Third Kind), Rachael Leigh Cook (She’s All That), Alex Kingston (Dr. Who and E.R.), William Daniels (Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World), Kevin Nash, Jack “Jungle Boy Perry and Mercedes “Mone” Varnado (wrestling stars), Diane Guerrero (Isabel from Encanto) and many more!

Born in Kansas City, Jamie spent age 8-18 in Columbia, MO yet always considered KC to be home. Jamie returned to KC after high school to attend Avila University, where she earned her degree in Communication. After residing in South KC, Raymore, the Plaza, River Market and Overland Park, Jamie is now a proud (and permanent) resident of Lenexa. Jamie is wife to her love, Andy, and mom to the dream team; Lucy (12), Quinn (10) and Hazel (6). Jamie is the Events Director for Kansas City Mom Collective and loves creating fun and exciting ways to gather as a community, especially if a theme is involved!
