Peaceful shopping sessions through my local Grandview Price Chopper were moments I cherished. There were no lines, clean aisles, and toilet paper was in-stock. Even still, my “morning” sickness was unruly and being anywhere for longer than 45 minutes was a game of roulette for nine months. Then walking became a painful challenge in the late stages of pregnancy.
Grocery pick-up has become a staple in my life, and there’s no turning back. Especially now that Price Chopper offers a new direct ordering service, which means no third-party markups and my rewards points don’t go to waste.
Recently, I tried their new grocery pick up at mypricechopper.com. The procrastinator in me loves that there is always same-day pick up and the website displays how many slots are available within each time frame.
After selecting a pick up time, your spot is reserved for two hours while you shop. It also allows you to modify or cancel the completed order if you’re still within that initial window.
Pro tip: if an item is “not found” in search results, try revising the search terms.
As always there is an option to elect substitutions. And since you’re ordering directly from Price Chopper you don’t have to stress about whether their latest coupons are being applied and if your rewards points are accumulating.
Within two hours of placing my order it was ready – an impressive two hours before my reserved pick-up time. I pulled into the parking lot on my way home from work and within 5 minutes my groceries were being loaded into the trunk. Moms of little ones can appreciate this calculated timing to avoid the domino effect of a backseat meltdown. And hooray for allowing alcohol pick-up!

Contactless delivery is also an option, but these days grocery store trips count as going out for me. At least now I have the ability to reclaim my time for other things I need to get done, or simply want to do for myself.
