Summer Fun at Zona Rosa

This post is sponsored by Zona Rosa.

Zona Rosa is my family’s favorite place to shop, dine and play in the Northland. They have a full line-up of free summer fun from concerts to movies, festivals and more. Bookmark this page to keep your summer bucket list full of ideas all summer long.

Summer Fest, July 20

The ultimate summer block party and shopping event in North Park and The Bridge. Kids will love the petting zoo, dance party with DJ Miles, foam party and yard games! Parents can hang in the Beer Garden and shop the Strawberry Swing Indie Craft Fair. Check out the event page for more information!

Summer Concerts in the Park

Nothing says summertime like live music in an outdoor setting. Zona Rosa’s Central Park has a great line up of bands every Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Bring chairs and blankets and let the kiddos play at the park while you enjoy the live music atmosphere.

JULY

July 5: No concert, July 4th weekend
July 12: The Zeros
July 19: Superstar Mafia
July 26: Big People

Mom Tip

Get an early reservation at Bravo Italian Kitchen, and ask for the patio for prime seating!

Outdoor Movies in North Park

Push the summer bedtime a little later and catch a movie in North Park (green space across from Dillards). Come early to eat dinner at one of the Zona Rosa restaurants offering discounts or grab a snack/treat at the food trucks and beer garden. Movies start around 8:45 p.m.

July 20: Clueless (1995, PG-13)

Mom Tip

Let the kiddos wear jammies, and they’ll be ready for bedtime as soon as the movie is over!

Coffee Club

Grab your mom friends and playdate pals and head to Zona Rosa’s Central Park on Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. all summer long. Enjoy coffee from the Brew HaHa Coffee House truck. Select Thursdays will have special activities and guests planned during The Coffee Club, check out the full list here.

Mom Tip

Bring a towel and change of clothes for the kids as they’ll want to play in the fountains!

Patios/Kid Friendly Dining

Need a break from feeding the kids all day every day? Zona Rosa has some great options for kid friendly dining and some great patio options for the summer!

  • 54th Street’s patio is one of our favorite spots for a family fun night with pickleball courts, yard games and kid-friendly fare.
  • Anejo Mexican Cuisine’s rooftop patio is now open!
  • My kids devour the bread, pizza and pasta at Bravo Italian Kitchen and their patio is the perfect spot to watch the summer concerts!
  • Breakfast for dinner always hits the spot and IHOP is now open!

New Shops

Zona Rosa continues to add a diverse mix of tenants from local to national brands. We’re excited about the recent additions of so many locally owned boutiques and some great options for kids:

  • Owen & Graham – elevated baby-to-tween shop selling gifts, accessories & apparel for baby, girl, boy & tweens.
  • The Parlor Boutique – fun and quirky on-trend & size inclusive clothing and accessories as well as vintage & designer apparel.
  • Toy Time – a locally owned toy store with this third location in Kansas City.
  • Kids Empire (opening end of 2024) – indoor kids playground.
