It was 30 years ago that Kansas City’s Coffee Company, The Roasterie, was born.
In 1978, Danny O’Neill visited Costa Rica as an exchange student and picked his first coffee. The coffee tree, coffee production and roasting inspired him, and fast forward 15 years, The Roasterie as Kansas City’s Coffee Company is born.
There have been many milestones over the past 30 years including opening the first Roasterie Cafe in Brookside, moving into the current Factory location at 1204 W. 27th Street to now serving Kansas City at six locations, adding a DC-3 plane named Betty (after Danny’s mother) to the roof, all while giving back to the Kansas City community.
To celebrate their 30th anniversary their turning their attention to you – the incredible people fueled daily by The Roasterie and their passion for making the world a better place. The Roasterie has launched its Give Back Blend, with notes of blackberry, cherry and citrus. For every tin of the Give Back Blend sold, The Roasterie will donate 10% of all proceeds up to $30,000 to the 30 selected Kansas City’s nonprofits.
Isaac Hodges, president of the Roasterie says “the 30 organizations that have been selected are all an integral part of the Kansas City community and we look forward to giving back to each of them in various ways.”
